END OF YEAR REQUIREMENTS

To the parents/students of the Class of 2020 and 2021,

This letter is to inform you of the academic and attendance requirements needed for your son or daughter to attend this year’s Junior and Senior Prom, Senior Grad Nite at 6 Flags Great America, and Senior breakfast. Prom, Grad Nite, and senior breakfast are all extracurricular privileges that can be earned through a student/families’ commitment to graduating on time (4 years).

1. Students are expected to be in school at least 95% of the time. We understand that things arise from time-to-time, such as family emergencies, medical issues, etc. and these attendance days will not count against the 95%. What will count against the 95% attendance are absences for the following reasons:

E-DE (Excused Uniform Violation/Detained)
E-S (Excused Suspended)
E-P (Excused Home Pass)
E-VC (Excused Vacation)
U (Unexcused)
U-N (Excused over 5 days)

Research shows that students who are consistently in school are more likely to experience academic success as well as graduate on time.

2. Students are also expected to be credit current/on track to graduate on time (4 years). Students who are not credit current/on track to graduate on time (4 years) are expected to meet with their counselor to enroll in an approved credit recovery method.

3. Students must not have any major disciplinary infractions.

Students who do not meet these requirements will have the opportunity to appeal with an administrator starting on 02/03/2020 and ending on 3/20/2020. Students who successfully have their appeal heard may be subject  o following an academic plan and/or attendance contract. They will pay the price of the tickets at the end of their contract, which may have late fees.

Students must have all outstanding fees paid in full prior to purchasing a prom ticket.
